Equine Life in Scottsdale

Check out all things equine in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Scottsdale Equine Event Venues

Several of our veterinary team are residents of Scottsdale and love all it has to offer, including Westworld of Scottsdale, with the Arabian Horse Show, Equestrian Center and the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships.

For a fun evening, check out Medieval Times in Central Scottsdale with its 80,000 square foot climate controlled 11th century-style castle with dinner, jousting and of course, lots of horses and talented equestrians!

If you’re looking for a good old-fashioned western experience, then head over to MacDonald’s Ranch for stagecoach rides, cowboy cookouts, horseback rides and more.

Scottsdale Equine Training Facilities & Parks

Check out the 23-acre facility at Stonegate Equestrian Park in Scottsdale off E. Shea Boulevard with its two equestrian arenas, round pen area, nature trail and more. It’s first come, first served so no need for a reservation.

If you’re just west of Scottsdale, right off the 101 and Tatum, try out the Arizona Horse Lovers Park. They have a range of events, a wide variety of arenas, and a trail horse training area with a wooden bridge, rope gate, mailbox and “pool noodle” forest.

For the only covered arena in Scottsdale, check out Winter Rose Equestrian Center. They also have a jump arena, dressage court, and a half mile track and you can trail ride across the street from their location.

Scottsdale Supply & Feed Stores

If you’re a horse owner, you know there are several great places for equine supplies and feed.  In North Scottsdale, we have Scottsdale Livestock. If you find yourself just to the north of Scottsdale in Cave Creek, stop by and say hi to the folks at Black Mountain Feed.

Scottsdale Equine Associations & Organizations

We believe in the power of the bond between horse and human and no one emphasizes the connection more than Scottsdale’s own Hunkapi Programs, which uses equine programs to help those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Emotional Disorder, Addiction Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Looking to help rescue a horse? Then reach out to the Arizona Equine Rescue Organization, who advocates for the welfare of horses everywhere.
